$300 to help cover bus fees for 5th grade students to spend a day with Montana Outdoor Science School exploring ecosystems and learning about animal adaptations. Outdoor experiences like this inspire students to care about the environment.
$300 to help cover bus fees to travel to Gallatin High School to learn from the theater students in their production of the Wizard of Oz. They will see excerpts from the show and learn about different areas of backstage and theater production. They will also have the chance to learn about theater etiquette.

Major Grant Award
$415.93 award to Mr. Bechard’s third grade class to cover the cost of transportation to the Ennis Fish Hatchery. There the students will learn about the trout lifecycle and receive eggs to bring back to their classroom for further study. Throughout the year they will learn how trout depend on clean, cold water and interact with other plants and animals in their ecosystem. Students will observe live trout and use evidence to describe their behaviors, physical characteristics, and development. They will also build a connection to Montana’s natural resources and recognize the importance of healthy rivers and trout to Montana’s environment, recreation, and communities.
